DESCRIPTION:Veteran blues guitarist Pan Salmenhaara plays ragtime and country blues music from the 1920s and 1930s. Salmenhaara has played guitar in many blues and jazz ensembles and has performed at numerous festivals and clubs both in Finland and abroad. Since February 2010, Salmenhaara has lived in Berlin and is currently visiting Finland. \nPan Salmenhaara (b. 1962, Helsinki) studied guitar and music and has played guitar not only as a soloist but also in several blues and jazz ensembles: Pan’s Blues Band, Thin Pan Alley, Fujitsu Jazz Allstars, Jazz Partout, and Swing du Nord.Salmenhaara has performed at events such as the Pori Jazz Festival, Turku Jazz, Hämeenlinna Linnajazz, Rauma Blues, Kuopio Blues & Jazz, Viapori Winter Blues, and the Art Goes Kapakka festival during Helsinki’s Juhlavikot, both as a solo artist and with various ensembles. As a solo artist, Salmenhaara specializes in fingerstyle guitar and the ragtime and Piedmont blues of the 1920s and 1930s. Salmenhaara has lived in Berlin since February 2010.
