Heta Salmi is a painter from Vantaa who uses art to explore her deepest thoughts, feelings, and experiences of the world around her. She is particularly interested in exploring what has traditionally been considered sacred and desirable in womanhood. Alongside these ideals, she also paints the reality of women’s lives and the experience of femininity: its beauty—and at times, its horror.

Her rich and colorfully textured works are imbued with melancholy and a longing for distant places. Heta works with mixed media, painting on aluminum. Harju Mori’s exhibition features nine works painted in 2025 and 2026 from the series “Divine and Earthly” and “Feminine Unveiled.”
